REQUIREMENTS FROM EMPLOYERS 

The following are to be considered before submitting your application:

1. Must be within the income bracket to hire a live-in care giver.
2. Must be able to provide the caregiver with a private bedroom or living area.
3. Must be able to justify the need for a live-in caregiver as opposed to a live-out. (Sponsoring a foreign caregiver in Canada requires live-in caregiver only).
4. Processing times within Canada and U.S. may take from two to four weeks to complete necessary background checks. 
5. Processing times outside of Canada and U.S. may take longer. Depending on the Canadian Embassies processing times and issuance of visas, for foreign caregivers from Philippines it may take six to eight months, while other countries may take less. 

When submitting the Employer Application:

Please note that information provided on this application will be held in strict confidence. Only non-identifying information will be released to the caregivers. Correspondence with your prospective caregiver would be forwarded through Carelink until both parties agreed to disclosure of personal contact information.

The fees for submitting the Employer Application must be sent via Western Union, Money Transfer or by faxing your credit card information on the attached form to Carelink Internaional at 416-962-9016 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR CHILD CARE

1. Photocopy of Proof of address such as Driver's License, OHIP, Telephone bills.
2. Photocopy of Child's Birth Certificate (proof of age of children to be taken care of).
3. Photocoy of S.I.N. number
4. Copy of Revenue Canada Taxation Number - If you don't have it yet, please call 1-800-959-5525, then press *0 (tell them that you are applying for the validation of offer of employment of a foreign live-in caregiver that the Human Resources Development Canada requires a RCT number. 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR SENIOR/ELDER CARE

1. Medical Certificate from Attending Physician (if the person to receive care is sick).
2. Proof of Age (photocopy of passport)
3. Proof of Address such as Driver's License, OHIP, Telephone Bills)
4. Photocopy of S.I.N. Number.
5. Copy of Revenue Canada Taxation Number. If you don't have it yet, please call 1-800-959-5525, then press *0 (tell them that you are applying for the validation of offer of employment of a foreign live-in caregiver that the Human Resources Development Canada requires a RCT number.
